TDA 2050 Gainclone ChipAmp, a classic 50 Watts HIFI class AB amplifier.

TDA2050 is a monolithic integrated circuit. It is a class AB power amplifier circuit. It intended use is HIFI.

The chip is able to deliver 32 watts true rms. TDA 2050 is high performance power amplifier IC. The IC amplifier has
  1. low distortion
  2. built in Thermal protector,
  3. Overvoltage
  4. surge voltage protector
  5. pin short protector.
  6. has good ripple rejection.
TDA 2050 has good ripple rejection of 45dB and has small residual noise. IC can be used to drive both 8 ohms and 4 ohm speakers. 

You can use this ic to build a power high quality stereo system amplifier that can be used to with Computer, Pc, Laptops and mobile phone, media players and anything which has audio output for speakers.

You might be wondering, how is the sound like? 
Well as far as I am concerned I love the sound, but in the end everyone has their take and taste. Everyone individual has different perception and every individual has right to decide. Well all I can say, this TDA 2050 excels everywhere. it produces deep bass, clear mids and crisp highs.

TDA 2050 amplifier schematic and parts :-
    • For best results, use metal film registor, it hs better sonic qualities and have low noise.
    • use the largest heatsink you can afford with good quality thermal grease
    • c7 c5 are electroic capacitor rated at 35v, use good and reputable manufacturer like samsung, rybycon, nichion . 
    • c3 c6 c4 c8 c2 are either polypropylene or polyester capacitor
    • Gain is 22, for maximum output, Input is 0.7v Rms
    • Circuit can be used with 4ohm and 8ohm speakers.
    • for 8ohm maxium ouput is 32 watts rms and for 4 ohm maxium ouput is 50 watts rms
    TDA 2050 Power supply schematic and parts :-
    1. Use 35 Amp Bridge Rectifer, use Br3510 or similar . 
    2. use 35amp bridge rectifier with hitsink along with good quality thermal grease
    3. C1- C6 and c13 are 4700 Micro Farad 35v, use good and reputable manufacturer like samsung, rybycon, nichion .
    4. c7, c10 and c14 are 0.1 Microfarad, either polypropylene or polyester capacitor
    5. c8, c11 are 0.001 Microfarad, either polypropylene or polyester capacitor
    6. use torroidal transformer if possible.
    7. transformer rating is dual secondry winding 18.0 vols, or 18.-0-18 center tapped, 5 Amps per secondy winding is minimum.
    TDA 2050 amplifier pcb design :-
    This simple and inexpensive power amplifier integrated circuit can be used for improving sound quality. You can do the project yourself and can build an audio board based on tda 2050 for your needs. This power amplifier address low power of audio devices at cheap price.

    All you need is power supply, pair of speakers, a little soldering skills and enclosures, you will get a good amplifier for your all your sonic needs, better than what you can but at this price range in the market.

     P.S you can use TDA 2030 or LM1875 instead of TDA 2050. LM1875 is a also a HIFI Gainclone Chip Amp. It so happens that Lm1875 has better Sonic Performance than TDA2050. So if you are looking for even better performer, use LM1875 instead of TDA 2050.
